Principal Osesp Clarinetist, Sergio Burgani was born in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil and studied with Rafael Gallardo Caro and Jose Ribeiro Sanches. Awarded in several national competitions, as the 'Young Interpreters of Brazilian Music' (Funarte-RJ) and 'South America Young Concert Brazilian Artists. Sérgio is professor of the Department of Music at the Arts Institute of Unesp-SP. He is member of the groups Percorso Ensemble and a Clarinet Quintet Sujeito à Guincho. With Sujeito a Guincho, twice he received the Eldorado Award, besides the Sharp Prize in 1996. In 2000, performed the national premiere of the Jean Françaix Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, with OSESP. During the national tour of Osesp in 2008, he was soloist at Camargo Guarnieri's "Choro for Clarinet and Orchestra" . Since 2007, in partnership with the luthier Odivan de Santana, Sérgio searchs reusable woods on constructing instruments.
